This brochure, developed by the Central and Eastern European Working Group on Nonprofit Governance, addresses basic issues of board membership. It addresses many topics of interest to both new and experienced board members, including board-staff relationships, conflict of interest, and the distinction between governance and management. Written by a group with a strong regional perspective, the questions are nevertheless applicable to board members around the world who are interested in strengthening their stewardship of their organization.
