Sharing resources and exchanging ideas to strengthen NGO governance worldwide

"International Conference On Child Labour 2008" - Update and Caution

"International Conference On Child Labour 2008" will take place in London on 2nd till 5th of September 2008.

The world wide concern about Child labour and issues of child soldiers; it's impact on the fate of growing population of the Third world nations has risen to unprecedented levels in the last few years. This explosion of information on Child Abuse has made all of us much more aware of what is happening. But, the sheer magnitude of it can also be overwhelming. We often ask ourselves, in spite of all the media are we really certain about what we need to know and is there anything we as average citizens can do about it? Join us on 2nd till 5th of September 2008, as we learn the answers to those two important questions,

What Do We Know?
What Can We Do?

We aspire to:
1) To tackle this scourge of Child Labour and Soldier
2) Lobby the UK Government to apply sanctions to Countries that allow this menace.
3) Establish relationship between Groups, NGO's and Individuals that
fight against this scourge
4) To empower bright youths of the third world by providing better life for them

The conference would be held at:
Hyde Park Motel
Station Road,
East Tisted,
Near Alton,
Hampshire, GU34 3QP
Date: 2nd till 5th of September 2008

why they feel they are eligible for the access grant.Fax your application to +448715034581. Compliments of the Season,

I have had a number of emails inquiring about this event and reports that people have not gotten responses from the organizers. I wanted to share what we have learned.

The information on the International Conference on Child Labour meeting was posted by a member and we have been unable to verify it. We have no affiliation with the event nor is Dr. Brammer, sometimes mentioned as a contact, affiliated with the Forum. This is the information we found by searching on the Internet:

https://www.h-net.org/announce/show.cgi?ID=163009 which then points to http://www.ihdor.org/event.html which does have language about a fund., but a lot of those links are broken, which does make it a bit suspect.

We have had one report that this event is not legitimate, but we have been unable to confirm or deny this.

Hi Kathy

Happy for your mail on the international conference. Please how do we get a direct response from Global Fund when we write to the organization.

It seems letters are thrown open as such one does not know which of the mails are correct one from Global Fund. Please direct us proper so that we know which dept. or officer at the Ngo\org we can channel our reguests and enquiries to.

Thanka alot for your candid advice.
