Academy for Educational Development-Croatia
AED’s Support for Croatia’s Non-Governmental Organizations Program (CroNGO) is a six-year program financed by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and implemented by the Academy for Educational Development (AED). The aim of CroNGO Program is to increase the ability of Croatia’s civil society to contribute to democratic, economic, and community development. CroNGO provides grants, training, and technical assistance to NGOs and citizen groups countrywide to address issues related to advocacy, community mobilization, transparency and professionalism, domestic funding, volunteerism, public perception, the legal environment, and support services. Among other accomplishments, the program has funded the development of a Croatian NGO Quality Assurance Tool to allow NGOs to conduct a thorough self-assessment and make necessary improvements to their organizations, and a Good Governance Working Group to determine minimal standards of good governance applicable to all Croatian NGOs.
The Mexican Center for Philanthropy (Centro Mexicano para la Filantropía - CEMEFI)
CEMEFI is a member, non-profit association, unaffiliated with any political party, race or religion, founded in December 1988. Its mission is to promote philanthropic culture and social responsibility in Mexico and strengthen the organized participation of society.
Instituto Fonte para o Desenvolvimento Social (Brazil)
Instituto Fonte is an organization of the Brazilian civil society which aims to build awareness and continuous learning about processes of development and the art of intervening in them. Its aim is to stimulate and to support an authentic and coherent practice of development between people and organizations towards social transformation. It works to achieve this through process analysis, training programs and publications. Its work involves following individuals and organizations in their growth and development crises in order to challenge paradigms and create original solutions for social and existential matters. Through active reflection on its experiences and through its systematization and dissemination, Instituto Fonte shares its discoveries and learnings, aiming to have an impact on the processes of development and to build knowledge.
The NGO Cafe
The NGO Cafe is a programme of the Global Development Reserach Center (GDFC). GDRC is a virtual organization that carries out initiatives in education, research and practice, in the spheres of environment, urban, community, economy and information, and at scales that are effective. Realizing the growing importance and voice of NGOs in development, the NGO Cafe was set up by GDRC on the Internet as a think tank for NGOs to discuss, debate and disseminate information on their work, strategies, and results. The objectives of the NGO Cafe are to assist NGOs in enhancing and improving their programmes and activities; to effect a better understanding of NGOs in general; and to enable NGOs to network at local, regional, and international levels, both horizontally and vertically.
The Resource-Alliance
The Resource Alliance’s mission is to build the fundraising and local resource mobilisation capacity of the voluntary sector worldwide. Resource Alliance is a UK registered charity (No.1099889) and has 501(c)3 status in the US. Its vision is of a strong voluntary sector throughout the world, working to the highest ethical standards of accountability and stewardship.
